Delicious Goop

Here are the pictures I promised. Hey and we even got a high chair too.

My good little sleeper has reverted back to late night feedings. Now I realize we are very fortunate to have such a happy baby who started sleeping through the night at a very young age. However, once you have gotten used to getting more sleep again, those late night dates with baby just aren't as much fun anymore. Hmm..I think it's time for cereal.

I had to take Logan to the doc on Tuesday for what turned out to be an ear infection. He now weighs 14lbs 10oz. So I asked the doc if it was ok to start cereal. He gave us a green light for the goop. We tried it for the first time the other night and he loved it. I filmed it but I can't get it on the computer because our fire cord isn't working for some reason. I will take some pictures tonight though. He is very cute, he talks and talks to me. Last night he sneezed with a mouth full and gave me a cereal shower. Daddy and Logan thought it was pretty funny, me not so much.

Now we just need to get him a high chair.

Foreign Appendages

I have a mirror on my back seat that sits above Logan's carseat so I can see him while I'm driving. He loves to watch himself, he talks & laughs, he just loves his little friend in the mirror. While in the car last weekend he discovered his feet, it was hilarious. He put his feet up in the air and was just starring at them. He would turn them this way and that, studying them very intently. If he could talk, he would have been saying, "Whow, what are these? Where did they come from? I didn't know these were down here! I wonder what they are for? Hmm...I wonder what they taste like? Yeah...not too bad."

I often wonder what he would be saying if he could talk.

This was Logan's hospital picture.

We had this same outfit in a 6 month size.

Look how much he has grown!

I'm hunting rabit.

3 month milestones

Our little baby is 3 months old today! We had his first pictures taken a couple weeks ago and they turned out excellent! I'm glad that we waited a little while.
He has nearly doubled his birth weight now at 13 pounds. He can roll from his tummy to his back. He has been sleeping through the night regularly for a month now. He talks to us and smiles oh so sweet. He laughs in his sleep, but aparantly his parents aren't so funny. He has only laughed for us a couple of times. He has a funny laugh, we weren't sure he was actaully laughing at first. We can see his personality developing more every day, it's truly a joy. He expresses his likes and dislikes.

These are a few of my favorite things:
-stroller rides outside
-the ceiling fan and my crib mobile,
or anything that spins
-The itsy bitsy spider
-sitting on the couch like a big boy next to daddy
-splashing in the bath
-being swaddled like a burrito at night
-cuddling with mommy

Logan likes to swim

While Logan was sick we discovered he loves taking baths by himself. Usually I would give him a bath in his little baby tub, or he would take one with me. However, last Sunday he was miserable and nothing seemed to be helping him. Gammy had the brilliant idea to try a bath. I rolled up a towel for him to rest his head on and gave him a bath in the big tub for the first time. He absolutely loved it! His little legs were going a mile a minute.

Here is a clip of Logan showing off his swimming skills.

Oh yeah by the way, Logan rolled over for the first time tonight! We were outside enjoying the beautiful weather. He was playing on a blanket in the grass, I rolled him onto his tummy and he pushed himself back to his back. What a big boy he is!

Fever, Needles, & Snot

These last couple of days have not been very fun. Logan is sick, Mommy is sick, and Daddy is on call. It started on Wednesday night, I hadn't been feeling well all day, and when I got Logan home he started running a fever. I gave him some Tylenol and we went to bed. His fever spiked right after midnight, it was 101.8. I gave him more Tylenol, but he continued to run a low grade fever through the night and into the morning. I called to make an appointment with our pediatrician as soon as their office opened, they couldn't see us until 1:30. In the mean time I was feeling sort of foolish because his fever went away and we as all smiles. But by the time 1:30 rolled around he was starting to run a little fever.

We went to the doctor, and he checked him over. I told the Doc that Logan's stools were occasionally streaked with blood and a mucus type consistency. He thought it was a milk protein allergy. He put Logan on Nutramigen, a hypoallergenic formula, and told me to eliminate dairy from my diet. Dr M. was a little concerned that he had been running such a high fever the night before. He said it could mean an infection, and with babies under 3 months you need approach it more aggressively. So, Dr M sent us up to Children's Methodist Hospital for blood work and a urine analysis. He wanted to test him for RSV, Flu, a urinary tract infection, and some other stuff.

It's tough letting them pick on your baby like that. They were unsuccessful getting blood out of one arm, so they had to stick him again...we both cried. It took forever for them to get a urine sample, they taped a bag to him...and we waited. We waited for an hour and half, he nursed and fell asleep...and finally we had pee. We finally got to go home. The doc called us a couple hours later with the results from the blood test, they were all negative. However, we are still waiting on the results from the urine analysis. Adam didn't get home until 10:00 last night, poor guy. He's on call for the next 7 days...boo.

Anyhow, it's good to know it's nothing serious with Logan. If he does have a urinary tract infection they will start him on an some antibiotic. If not, it's just a virus that has to run its course

Logan's first video

We finally got out the video camera and filmed Logan a little. I'm not sure why we didn't get it out earlier, other than he wasn't doing too much...I thought it might bore people. Then I had to try to remember how to get it on the computer, which wasn't too bad. Putting it on the blog was a different story, it took FOREVER. We even have a high speed internet connection. There's got to be an easier way.

Anyway here is a short clip of our smiling baby, who is now sick. He was even running a fever when we took this actually. What a little trooper.
