Logan's Nursery

This was one of the last rooms in our house that we did. We had to take out the 2 layers of old linoleum flooring, and remove the baseboards. Then, we repainted in green & yellow, added the chair rail and new baseboards. Finally, we had new carpet installed. This is the only room in our house with carpet. Now I kind of wish we had it in the other bedrooms as well. At least Logan can play in one room without cracking his noggin.
I chose frogs for the theme, but we still need to get some more frog decor. Grandma (my mom) made all of his crib bedding, and the valance. I love the comforter, it's a patch work with all different colors and textures. He hasn't slept in his crib yet, other than a couple of naps. He sleeps in a bassinet in our room. I like to have him close.

Our Baby Boy

We welcomed Logan George Schmidt into the world on Thursday January 10th. We decided to induce labor, to make the timing part easier. We showed up at the hospital at 6:00 am. They started the pitocin around 9, and the doctor broke my water. Contractions started within minutes, spaced about 4 minutes apart. Things progressed smoothly. I asked for an epidural about halfway through, then everything was much more pleasant. Logan was born @ 3:28pm after about an hour of pushing. He weighed 7lbs 1 oz and was 20.25 inches long.

We went home from the hospital on Saturday, and have been enjoying our little boy very much! Adam took a week off. He fell into the daddy roll immediately. He swore up and down while I was pregnant that he wouldn't change diapers. Well, he has been doing that plus everything else. Logan loves to hear his daddy talk to him, he stops crying right away when he hears daddy. He had a hard time going back to work. He's been coming home for lunch a lot to get some baby love. My mom flew into town last Friday and is here until Monday. It has been awesome to have her here, she has been a great help.
